In Chittagong, the barricades were built to build the terminal. Acquisition of 67 acres of land, the Chittagong Port Authority understands the obstruction of the construction of the terminal terminal.

On Tuesday, the officials of the port officials took possession of land from the officials of the port city. They realized that the occupation of the proposed area of the project was found in Halishahar of the city. There was a problem for a long time.

At the time of taking possession of the land, member of the Chittagong Port (Engineering) Commodore Khandker Akter Hossain, Deputy Manager (Land) Zillur Rahman and additional land acquisition officer Narayan Shil were present for the district administration. Commodore Khandaker Akter Hossain said that the land we got today is a memorable moment for the port of Chittagong.

Because the field work of the dream project started. It will be another port like the port of Chittagong. In order to increase the cargo and container growth, the port of Chittagong has to be expanded further.

The idea of non-terminal was taken from this thought. He also said that the yard and truck terminals will be built here in the initial phase of the project. It will reduce the pressure on the port. The rest of the land for the project is awaiting final approval of the land ministry.

We hope that we can understand the land soon. Additional Land Acquisition Officer Narayan Shil said that after getting the final approval of the ministry, we can explain the remaining 821 acres of land in November this year.

According to sources, the Bay of Bengal will be larger than the port of Chittagong. If it is built, the capacity of the port will be greatly increased. The Bay-Terminal will be built in the grazing ground 800 meters away from the Halishahar coast. The depth of the grazed channel is 7 to 10 meters. Its depth in the sea is more than 12 meters.
This means that the ship can board the ship with a depth of 12 meters with a length of 280 meters. The existing jetties of the port of Chittagong Port, which are located on the bank of the Karnaphuli, can reach 9.5 meter deep and can accommodate a large number of 190 meters. Bay terminal will mainly contain container ship-based terminals.

However, if necessary, handling the bulk cargo holders (open cargoes) can also be handled. There are 13 jetties in it. Of these, seven containers and the remaining six multipurpose jetties

According to sources, although all preparations to start the project were taken by the Port Authority, it was stuck in the land acquisition complex. Understanding the land, there is no barrier to start work now.

The initial phase of the project will start soon, the port authorities said. The project, which is estimated to cost around Tk 20 billion, will require 889 acres of land.
Of these, the land owned land is 68 acres and the Government Khas land 821 acres. 67 acres of land owned by the district administration has been acquired. The port authority has already paid 365 crore taka to the district administration for the price of the land.
The last 12 million is also paid on Tuesday. Then the district administration understood the possession of the acquired land. Understanding land has land of south, middle and northern Halishahar mausoleums.
