US ambassador to Saudi Arabia, former General Abizaid
President Donald Trump has appointed a former army general as the US ambassador to Saudi Arabia.
He has been appointed to this time when the pressure on the US administration is increasing steadily to take action against Saudi Arabia in the killing of journalist Jamal Khashoggi.
The White House said Trump, the Army's four-star General John Abizaid as the US Ambassador to Saudi Arabia. Now the US Senate has to ensure its recruitment.
Trump administration is facing criticism from lawmakers as it supports support for the Saudi-led coalition's alliance, without the Khashoggi assassination.
Since Donald Trump took charge as US President in January 2010, Riyadh has no ambassador since Washington
The Saudi Washington Post's successor, Jamal Khashoggi, who was known as the critically critical of the successor of the Saudi throne, Mohammad bin Salman was known. On October 2, Turkey was confined to the Saudi consulate of Istanbul in Istanbul, killing him with a dead body.
Riyadh has denied all types of involvement in the murder of Khashoggi. However, a prosecutor in the country said the killing of the Khashoggi was premeditated.
Donald Trump, who has been under pressure from the beginning, is reluctant to give Saudi Arabia an economic sanction.
