46 years ago the painting sold for $ 18 thousand, that's sold more than five thousand times! A painting of living legend painter David Hawking has been sold for a record 90.3 million dollars in auction. The painting cost Tk 755 crore 87 lakh 42 thousand rupees in Bangladeshi currency.

On Thursday, Christie's auction company 'Portrait of an Artist (Pool with Two Figures)' in New York, USA, sold the price. It is a record of the living paintings of a living painter selling at such prices.

Interestingly, this film was sold by British painter David Hawking through his distributor for only $ 18,000 in 1972. Turning around the hand, the picture is now sold at such a price.
According to CNN news, the memories of this picture are still bitterly sweet to the 81-year-old David Hawking. In the interview with CNN in his studio in Hollywood studio last year, he talked about this picture. In that interview, he said, "At that time, I thought it was enough money. But in six months the picture was sold for $ 50,000. "Just after the sale, his American distributor Andre Emerick realized that it was sold at very low prices. But it was too late. Such incidents happen in the painting market.

On the painting of CNN, Hakkani said that in the studio accidentally, two of his paintings fell on one another and he was encouraged to do the painting. One of those paintings was the portrait of American artist Peter Sleigenzer and the other was a swimmer. He made these paintings by doing these two ideas. He said that the two people's different poses so much that he started drawing the picture quickly.

Hakkani took six months at the beginning of drawing painting, finalized in just two weeks. In May 1972, he finished his work to give an exhibition at a New York exhibition.
It is easy to imagine how painter feels if the painting is worth more than five thousand times more than the actual price. Christis spokesman confirmed that painting would not be financially beneficial even if the painting was sold at such a price. Christie's did not tell who bought the painting.
