Former Union minister journalist MJ Akbar, who resigned on the charge of sexual harassment, has been described as "outstanding educated and presenting gentleman", editor of the Sunday Guardian, Joyita Basu. He said this about Akbar in Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Samar Huge's court in Patiala House Court in New Delhi on Monday. Journalist Priya Ramani has brought her first accusation of sexual harassment against former Minister of State for External Affairs MJ Akbar. After that, many female journalists from different countries and countries had withdrawn from their respective positions in the same type of complaint. He filed a defamation case against Priya Ramani in the Delhi High Court. Journalist Joyita Basu gave the first testimony on Monday in the case. In the court, he said that the experience of working with Akbar as a journalist for a long time is 20 years. He never heard of any bad comment about Akbar from any of his colleagues. He is not only a great journalist, highly educated writer, an old gentleman and a respectable personality.

Akbar said the accusations brought against him were "malicious and selfish". However, after listening to the defamation case, Priya Ramani said, "My only defense is true and true."

At least 12 female journalists who have been accused of sexually assaulting the former BJP minister, who have worked with Akbar at some point of time. Indian journalist Pallavi Gogoi also accused of rape against Akbar Although Akbar said that he had a relationship with Pallabi. Whatever has happened, it is based on compliance.

Akbar has brought defamation suit only against Priya Ramani, who is the first complainant Habibur Rahman, the next witness in this case, has been arrested. The court has summoned him on 7 December.
