The charges against Barrister Mainul are framed on 10 January


The date for formation of the charge against former caretaker government adviser Barrister Mainul Hossain has been fixed on January 10. Judge Arifa Yasmin, in the court of Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate of Rangpur, filed the case with the court on Thursday.

In this regard, Public Prosecutor (PP) Abdul Malek said that the plaintiff of the case was present in the court but no lawyer was present in the case and bail did not apply to him. In order to begin the judicial proceedings of the case, the judge has fixed the date for filing the charges on January 10, including the case in his own file.

Earlier, Barrister Mainul Hossain was presented before the court in a strict security arrangement. Police did not allow media workers to enter court premises at the time.
On Oct 22, Human Rights activist Rangpur resident Mili Maya Begum filed a defamatory suit against Barrister Mainul Hussain in the Chief Judicial Court of Rangpur. Judge Arifa Yasmin issued the arrest warrant for the court on that day. On that day Mainul Hossain was arrested in Dhaka.

On October 16, Ekusher Private TV channel talked to a talk show at a stage show called journalist Masuda Bhatti as 'characterless'. Mainul HossainAfter this comment, the social media became a storm of criticism and criticism on Facebook. There have been 22 cases so far in different places of the country including Dhaka. Of these, 20 have been filed in defamation cases and the other two are under the Digital Security Act.
