One killed, 15 injured

A young man was killed in a clash between the people and the villagers when police arrested Narayanganj port accused. The entire area becomes battleground. 15 people were injured in this incident. This incident happened on Saturday in Chanpur area of the upazila. Police have arrested two people in the incident.

The deceased was identified as Ashikur Rahman Babul (22). His house in the village of Baytola, Comilla The injured were rushed to different hospitals. Two vehicles of police were vandalized during the clashes.

Locals and police said, a team of police went to arrest the accused in Chanpur area of Madanpur upazila around 8:30 pm. During this time, local Union Parishad (UP) member Khalilur Rahman was known as a supporter and the accused arrested Dipu and Sujon. Dipu and Sujon's associates attacked the police with the help of locals, pimps and other domestic weapons and firearms. At the time, their counter-attacks with police occurred and clashes started. At one stage, they attacked Dipu and Sujon. 15 sub-inspectors (SI) Mohammad Ali, Constable Debashish, Monwar and Mohan were injured in the incident. Ashikur Rahman, a young man who was seriously injured in police firing, was seriously injured. He died after being treated at Dhaka Medical College Hospital. Additional police rushed to the spot and rescued the injured and recovered Rifat and Nuranabi. The entire area became a battleground in the clash. Local people vandalized two cars from the police. Police fired blank shoots to control the situation.

Dhaka Medical Police Outpost Sub-Inspector (SI) Bachchu Mia confirmed the authenticity of the information.

Officer-in-Charge of Bandar Police Station OC Azharul Islam said the accused and the people of the area attacked the police and vandalized two vehicles of the police when they apprehended two accused in the case. Police fired 15 shotguns to bring the situation under control. Police detained two people in this incident.

It is to be noted that on November 18, terrorists wounded UP member Khalilur Rahman at Narayanganj port in front of the extortion and transport of suppression and transport in Madanpur bus stand area. After the incident, supporters of the UP member attacked the opponents' houses and blocked the Dhaka-Chittagong highway. Police fired tear gas shells and rubber bullets to bring the situation under control. At that time, 20 people, including five policemen, were injured in clashes and clashes between two sides. The case was filed against the two parties. It was such a scam when it came to arrest the accused in the case.
