Workers protests still in Ashulia
The garment workers' protests are going on. The workers of Ashulia and Savar are protesting on the first working day of the week on Sunday.
As many as 50 factories of Jamgara and Narsinghpur of Ashulia have been closed due to protests. There was a clash between the workers and the police. At least 10 workers were injured in this.
These protests are being demanded for non-payment of promised wages and change of wage structure according to the new wage structure.
Workers said that workers' anger increased due to not being paid by the announcement of increase in salaries before the election. The increase in the cost of living is due to the rising costs of living. Some people said that due to the stomach tension, some people are on the road.
Workers in Ashulia and Savar areas have been protesting for the last one week. Apart from this, workers protest in several areas including Uttara, Mirpur in the capital.
On Saturday, protesting thousands of workers in Ashulia blocked the road. The clash erupted at that time. Workers blocked the roads in the area near Dhaka's Mirpur Government's Bangla College, Tolarbag, Sheowarpara and Mirpur-14. Some cars were vandalized. Some factories were vandalized if the garment workers did not allow workers to participate in the protest. At noon the police took control of the situation of four places.
At around 8:30 am, workers of Jamgara and Narsinghpur in Ashulia got protesting in the streets at around 8:30 am. They burned the tire in the street and protested. During the protest, the workers threw the bus. Some passengers were injured in this.
Due to the protests, the traffic movement on Abdullahpur-Baiyal road was closed today. The police dispersed the workers after using water tanks, teargas. Around four kilometers of the road spread collision.
The movement began to move at a little over 11pm. But today the number of vehicles on the road is less than the other day.
Police and BGB are patrolling the front of different roads and factories.
Industrial Police-1 Super Sana Shaminur Rahman said in the first light, 'Today 50 factories have been closed.'
