Sri Lankan Parliament MPs Lieutenant-Dusum
The MPs in Sri Lanka Parliament have been blown away. The incident happened on Thursday in the country of political crisis. An injured MP has been admitted to the hospital. Another MP alleged that the knife was being administered by the opposition. This video of the MPs blows out on Thursday afternoon spread all over the world. At the moment there is no 'recognized' prime minister or cabinet.
The news of the Guardian Online reported that the parliament session began yesterday morning. In the afternoon the supporters of the late Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapakse stumbled over the speaker Karu Jayasuriya and the session was postponed.
The MPs of the Prime Minister Ranik Bikram Singhingh, who was dismissed, took the Speaker's favor. At one stage of ammunition among the MPs, Bikram Singhing's party United National Party (UNP) MP Palittha Thiwaraparuma was accused of being in charge of MPs in the knife. Another MP, Indika has said that he has complained to the police about the incident in the afternoon.
The video shows that 30-35 MPs - mostly white dresses and wearing natives on the neck, are pushing each other, blows. In the sitting room, this blah has left for a few minutes. Some were groaning. An MP is seen throwing a basket of paper on the speaker.
Rajpak's party MP Dilum Amunughama was injured during the attempt to snatch the speaker's microphone. His shirt was soaked in blood. He was later admitted to the hospital.
During the fight, it was seen that the speaker, Rajayat and Vikramasinghe left the sitting room.
UNP Harsh De Silva commented on this violence as "the most shameful day for parliament".
On October 26, Prime Minister Ronil Bikramasinghe defeated President Sirisena and announced that Mahinda Rajapaksa will be the Prime Minister when the power struggle began in Sri Lanka. The president broke the parliament on November 9 after the new elections will be held on January 5. The decision in the parliament is challenged in the Supreme Court. The court ordered the reinstatement of parliament on Tuesday (November 13th) as illegal by the President's announcement. The court has asked the two rival Prime Minister to decide who will be elected in parliament. The following day, on Wednesday (November 14th), there was a strong security in Sri Lanka. In the parliament, the non-confidence motion was passed against Mahinda Rajapaksa.
Although he is still dismissed, Bikramasinha has yet to claim himself the Prime Minister.
Meanwhile President Sirisena said on Wednesday night that he has rejected the parliament's non-confidence vote.
Speaker Jayasuriya said in the parliament that there is no effectiveness of any Prime Minister or Cabinet now because of non-confidence vote.
In the morning before the clashes, in the parliament, he strongly urged the MPs in the parliament, in his speech in Rajapure, said that he took the responsibility of Prime Minister to protect the country due to lack of power, weak and corrupt leadership of Vikram Singh. To the rival group, he said, "You have a great role in the Prime Minister and President's post, but not to me."
After his speech, the MPs of Rajapaksa's team went to him after the Speaker took the initiative in support of this statement. At that time, the MPs of Bikram Singhingh party barred them. After this the fight started.
